3.8.23 One Day Post Surgery Update

Update : Our sweet Gabriella has continued to make progress today. She has stayed much more stable into this afternoon and evening. They have monitored her heart rate closely today as it has shown a few arrhythmias and likes to pump a little too fast. Her biggest goal over the next twelve hours is to drain and rid excess fluid so they can close her chest up tomorrow. They have also been watching her blood pressure closely too. Everytime she stir’s it goes down (normally when we wake up our blood pressure rises.)

Adding this in so I can have it for her blog I will hopefully soon update: She is on standard medication for cardiac support and blood pressure medication. -Milrinone (always given after bypass) >helps squeeze (contracticity) and relaxing (filling) -Epinephrine> helps heart squeeze + blood vessel squeeze -Vasopressin> helps blood vessel squeeze -Fentanyl> sedation/pain management

She will likely stay on Milnnone the longest, and epinephrine to help with heart squeeze!

This has been a pretty scary past couple days as parents, but we are so proud of our little warrior girl for fighting and showing her resilience! Thank you to our massive village of prayer warriors! We have felt the healing magnitude they have carried in the successes Gabriella has made in the last 48 hours! We pray she continues to move in the right direction and stay stable! The plan for tomorrow is to hopefully close her chest, and pray that operation goes smoothly as well!

Hey thanks for stopping by! My name is Kayleen, I am fairly new to the heart mom community.  We found out at our 20 week anatomy scan that our baby girl has a severe Congenital Heart Disease called HLHS in October of 2022.
